Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 September 2026
This app is designed for children aged 8–11. We comply with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the ICO Age Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code). We collect the minimum data necessary and never share it with third parties.
1. Who we are
Robotics AI Academy ("we", "us", "our") operates the 11+ Revision app at elevenplus.roboticsaiacademy.co.uk.
Data controller: Gopi, Robotics AI Academy
Email: gopi.robotics.ai@gmail.com
WhatsApp: +44 7985 783392
2. What data we collect
We collect the following personal data, all provided by the parent/guardian during registration:
- Parent's name — to identify the account holder
- Parent's email address — for account authentication and communication
- Parent's WhatsApp number — for support and updates (with consent)
- Child's first name — to personalise the learning experience
- Year group — to tailor question difficulty
We also collect the following data automatically through use of the app:
- Quiz progress and scores — answers given, scores, streaks, badges earned
- Session data — which topics practised, difficulty level, time of practice
- Device information — browser type and screen size (for technical support only)
What we do NOT collect: We do not collect the child's surname, date of birth, school name, photographs, location data, or any biometric data. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics.
3. Children's data and the ICO Children's Code
This app is a service "likely to be accessed by children" under the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code. We apply the following standards:
- Best interests: The app's sole purpose is educational — helping children prepare for 11+ exams
- High privacy by default: All privacy settings are set to the most protective level. No data is shared publicly
- Data minimisation: We collect only what is strictly necessary for the app to function
- No profiling: We do not profile children for marketing, advertising, or any purpose beyond providing personalised practice questions
- No nudge techniques: We do not use dark patterns or manipulative design to encourage children to share more data
- No geolocation: We do not collect or use location data
- Parental controls: The account is registered by a parent/guardian who provides verifiable consent
- No detrimental use: Children's data is never used in ways that could cause harm
4. Lawful basis for processing
We process personal data on the following bases under UK GDPR:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a) and Article 8): The parent/guardian consents at registration. For children's data, parental consent is obtained as required by Article 8 UK GDPR
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): For basic analytics needed to maintain and improve the app
- Contract (Article 6(1)(b)): To provide the service you signed up for
5. How we use your data
- To provide personalised 11+ revision practice
- To track your child's progress and show improvement over time
- To implement spaced repetition (resurfacing questions the child found difficult)
- To award badges and maintain streaks as motivation
- To contact the parent via email or WhatsApp about the service (with consent)
- To provide technical support when requested
6. Where we store your data
All data is stored on Supabase servers in the EU (London region). Supabase is a SOC 2 Type II certified platform. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+).
We do not transfer data outside the UK/EEA. If this changes, we will update this policy and obtain fresh consent.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with any third parties.
The only third-party processor is Supabase (our database host), who processes data solely on our instructions under a Data Processing Agreement.
8. Data retention
- Active accounts: Data is retained while the account is active
- Inactive accounts: If no login for 24 months, we will email the parent to ask if they wish to keep the account. If no response within 30 days, the account and all associated data will be permanently deleted
- Deleted accounts: Upon account deletion request, all data is permanently removed within 30 days
- Guest mode: Guest data is stored only on the user's device (localStorage) and is never sent to our servers
9. Your rights (UK GDPR)
You (or your child, with parental support) have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you or your child
- Rectification — correct any inaccurate data
- Erasure — request permanent deletion of all data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict processing — limit how we use your data
- Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
- Object — to any processing based on legitimate interests
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at gopi.robotics.ai@gmail.com or WhatsApp +44 7985 783392. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):

Helpline: 0303 123 1113
11. Cookies
See our Cookie Policy for full details. In summary: we use only essential cookies required for the app to function (authentication session). We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app and, where we hold your email, by email. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
